Philosophy

The hope & grace initiative represents an unprecedented and unending commitment by philosophy to support mental health and wellbeing.

Mental health issues are one of the greatest challenges women face. More than 450 million people worldwide suffer from mild to serious mental health issues — such as post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, self-esteem and financial stress — all of which disproportionately affect women around the world.

With the initiative, philosophy becomes the first company to place a deep focus on this important cause and the first major beauty company to make a brand-wide commitment to dedicate 1% of its sales toward the cause.

The program is launching beginning july 2014 by dedicating 1% of all sales on philosophy.com and then will become integrated into all retail, online, and television product sales starting in january 2015.

Through this initiative, philosophy seeks to empower the mental health and wellbeing movement by providing opportunities to raise global awareness of the issues, learn about and support effective organizations and provide resources to bring renewed hope to the lives our community.

Media Storm and MAUDE have raised awareness of Bring Change 2 Mind through online and offline marketing campaigns, outreach, and publicity. Galassi Foods is honored to partner with BC2M, and to proudly display a green ribbon on their jars to show their commitment to fighting the stigma around mental illness. Lisa Galassi’s daughter has had a long journey with depression and anxiety, and the worst part of their lonely battle was the stigma.  It shouldn’t be this way, and education and speaking out are the keys to change. Lisa’s goal is to ensure that others do not have to go through the same experience as her family so she is paying it forward to let others know that there is hope.

Lisa’s daughter is a very amazing young lady, and her family gains strength and inspiration from her every day. But, they know that it would be an easier path if people understood and accepted mental illness.

During the month of May, Galassi Foods will be donating 1% of their sales to BC2M to support and end the stigma of mental illness.  And, as their company grows, they plan to donate more.
